- Install Conversions for Reddit in your CRM account. Open setup dashboard after installation, or Reddit Conversions from its menu.
- In Reddit Ads → Events Manager, copy your Pixel ID. A business admin can create a conversion token under Conversions API. Save both on the Connection tab. Saving does not establish API acceptance.
- Add Send Reddit Conversion in the workflow action picker. Select the event type and where it occurred. Map a unique Conversion ID and matching fields. CUSTOM requires a distinct name.
- Copy the Reddit Test ID from Event Testing. Validate a synthetic payload, then send with that test ID. Check the receipt and the Event Testing screen.
- Remove Test ID before publishing a live workflow. Keep Conversion ID unchanged for retries and corresponding browser Pixel events. Confirmed duplicates are suppressed for 48 hours, separately for test and live sends.
Matching
Email is lowercased, with dots and plus suffixes removed from the local part before SHA-256 hashing, following Reddit’s rules. Phone is normalized to E.164 and hashed. External IDs are hashed. Existing SHA-256 values are preserved; Reddit Click ID is sent unchanged.
Original event time accepts ISO format, Unix seconds or milliseconds within seven days. Value and currency must be supplied together. Page URL applies to WEBSITE events. Limited Data Use requires a country and does not replace consent obligations. Use workflow conditions to exclude people whose information must not be sent.
Receipts and retries
A success requires Reddit’s explicit acknowledgement for one processed event. Acceptance does not guarantee attribution. Transport failures, rate limits and server errors are retryable. Configure workflow retries with the same Conversion ID; there is no background retry queue.
Permissions and disconnect
oauth.readonly identifies installed accounts; workflows.readonly enables actions. No contact or messaging access is requested. Disconnect removes the saved Reddit token and receipts. Revoke tokens in Reddit and cancel Marketplace subscriptions separately.
